This prestigious project at the Royal College of Nursing Headquarters in London involved the installation of three additional chandeliers within a listed decorative ceiling.
Our team carried out sensitive plaster restoration, electrical upgrades and the installation of new chandeliers, working within a live environment and ensuring the building’s heritage character was fully protected throughout.

CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS
CHALLENGE
The fixed boardroom table could not be removed. Table, walls and floors were carefully protected.
SOLUTION
Internal birdcage scaffold was erected to allow safe access without impacting the room.
CHALLENGE
Working at height within a historic, listed ceiling.
SOLUTION
A purpose-built internal scaffold provided a safe and stable working platform, minimising disruption in a live environment.
CHALLENGE
Heritage plaster features required careful removal and accurate replication.
SOLUTION
The existing plaster crown/ ceiling rose was removed, expertly replicated and re-installed after making good the ceiling.
THE OUTCOME
The project was completed successfully, with three new chandeliers installed and the original heritage plaster detail expertly reinstated. The room retained its listed character while benefiting from improved lighting, functionality and atmosphere, enhancing this iconic space for the Royal College of Nursing.
